The #5minutescalm Project
So, you decided that you want to try and take some steps to help your children be calmer and more focused in hopes that this will lead to them and the rest of your family being happier. Great news!
Where can you start?
I suggest that you give yourself small, manageable targets. There’s no point in trying to change everything about your routine or lifestyle at once. People who practice mindfulness, meditation, exercise or any other form of self care can tell you that even the smallest of change can have a huge impact on your health, both physical and mental.
I propose that we embark on a project together, starting from today, to take 5 minutes a day to practice calmness with our kids.
What I mean by that is, it doesn’t have to be a huge deal, it doesn’t have to require much preparation, but think about your day and where you could fit 5 mins of a quiet activity with your kids.
What happens next?
Of course I’m not going to just throw this challenge at you, I will be posting daily about my own 5 minutes of calm with my 2 year old on Big Little Minds and @biglilminds (Instagram) , and later this week I will be giving you one more blog post full of ideas of how you can implement this.
Once we get started I would love to hear how you are getting on, any questions you may have and any thoughts you have on the effects this is having on your family life. So, tag @biglilminds on Instagram, or @biglittleminds on twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #5minutescalm
I’m super excited! Hope you are too.
