Fountain News: Big Town Chef Weekly Update — 16th September 2022
Evening, residents of Big Town!
This is your trusted Fountain News correspondent, reporting live from the Big Town Bridge. At this very moment, food trucks are jamming into the Metaverse’s Kitchen, as our rock star Chefs prepare for another big weekend in the Cook-Off Battle Arena.
Another sunny week has flown by in Big Town. And we can’t wait to report to you all the ongoings in this bubbly town! We’ve got a wonton of updates to give you on the Big Town Raffle, some tantalising game developments from none other than the Master of Games, Floyd.
You thought that was it? You don’t know the Fountain News well enough then. We’re including a new section in every edition where we put a Big Town staff member in the spotlight and find out what they’ve been working on. We think this would be a great way for the community to see what’s been going on even more behind the scenes, from all departments. In the first week, we shine the light on Tom, Co-Founder of Big Town.
*catches breath*… and finally. A new Gino update. Enjoy, Chefs!
The Big Raffle in Big Town… and the Main Prize!
In the last edition of the Fountain News, we heard that the development was well underway. And this time the rumours have swept the land that with the blood, sweat and cake from the Big Town boffins, the raffle functionality is now complete and has entered the testing phase! 🎉🥳
At Fountain News, we pride ourselves on being the first and most concrete source of Big Town information in the world… and we’ve got BREAKING NEWS!
The main prize for the first ever Big Town raffle is confirmed to be a partnership collaboration with Purrnelopes Country Club and the community will be in with the chance of winning the super-rare 1 of 1 Purrnelope’s Country Club NFT!
We will definitely be entering the raffle, and hope all our readers will too! Check it out below 👇
In addition to all the craziness above, the UI for the Raffle has been updated, so it’s now even easier to use.
The Master of Games presents an update on the Game
Here are a few words from Floyd, the Master of Games, who’s been beautifully creating the Big Town world we know and love.
We have begun work fleshing out Big Town with buildings and assets bringing the core location of our world to life. Soon you will be able to see chefs interacting with the world and eachother.
We have been able to secure an exclusive cinematic of a scene from the Big Town Chef game, with the wonderful 3d wordmark. Isn’t it just mesmerizing.
Peek into the Kennel
Floyd has once again passed the information on to us to let all the readers of Fountain News know that the pets are in the rendering stage and will be entering the QA (testing) stage shortly. So hopefully next Fountain News we can give you more concrete news on when the cages will open!
For now, feast your eyes on little rockstars:
An Update on Gino
Great news, Chefs! We know how much of our readers are Gino-mad, and so are we, don’t worry. It’s rumored that the Mayor even has a picture of Gino on his desk, I’m sure his wife will be annoyed but after all, Gino is Gino.
Gino will be filming exclusive content for us which he is recording on the 11th October. The nature of the content is under the wraps for now… but keep a keen eye out around that date for something BIG!
Shining in the Staff Spotlight
This week in the Fountain News we are introducing a brand new section that will be included in every future Fountain News called Shining in the Staff Spotlight ✨. We love transparency and it’s important for all the readers to know what’s happening behind the scenes in Big Town. Alongside that, we do tend to hear from some of the more front-facing staff such as Floyd, or from the marketing team, however, there are many more great workers in Big Town and we all want to know what they’re up to!
This week we kick things off with a few highlights from Tom, Chief Design Officer and Co-Founder of Big town:
Hey, Chefs — Tom here! The Mayor has asked me to give you, the residents of Big Town, a little bit of background information about myself. So, here I am! My name is Tom. I’m the Chief Design Officer and Co-founder of Gino’s Big Town Chef. This means, back in 2021, I was directly involved in the conception of the project and have led the creative side of things ever since. Whether that be the Gino’s Big Town Chef brand, design of our online properties, or even the Genesis Chef NFT artwork — it has been, and always will be, my responsibility to ensure the project maintains it’s fun, family-friendly, and high-quality aesthetic. And it’s these super-important principles that have since shaped our approach to designing and building the Big Town metaverse and cook-off battle game. I spend a lot of my time collaborating with Floyd, our Game Director, to guarantee the gameplay meets the standards of the project at large and, of course, the high expectations of our Chefs. Now, I’m off to jump back into Big Town Pets NFT quality assurance. The mecca of food never sleeps! Thanks for reading. Gino says ciao!

Gino is most certainly impressed with the sheer brilliance of this week’s entrants. We said it before, but a lot of you should open your own restaurants! Pure works of art encapsulating Italian cuisine perfectly.
Before the winners are announced. A word from The Mayor:
Rate my Plate is taking a Rate my Break for a short period, we aim to be back with fresh competitions as soon as possible, apologies for any inconvenience this will cause to all you keen Chefs. Great time to treat yourself with a (healthy) takeaway!
