Only three things cure burn-out: rest, stillness and having fun. Of these, the only one we’re born with and retain until adulthood is having fun. Everybody knows how to do it.
Not that we don’t sometimes need help rediscovering it; mistaking charity fundraising or enduring a half marathon for having fun – they both have fun moments but they’re not primarily about having fun.
