This probably explains why my entire industry (environmental scientists and biologists) are underpaid, and underquote our services. Many are courageous; risk wildlife encounters, risk falling off cliffs, risk getting stranded in a bog, etc. just to collect the data needed to explain ecosystems, identify habitats for rare species, and provide grounds to protect that highest layer to policy makers or other decision makers.
