In Person Drop

For a longer period of time I have a wish to go to the AON Brokerage firm in Lahore and drop my CV in person. So in this week, I decided to go to the AON office for in person drop. Before dropping my resume I search out a lot about the company what the new projects which they wanted to launch, name of the recruiters, learning environment and the most important what skills and experiences they required for the different position which they offered last year in march.

After a lot of preparation I personally went to their office on Wednesday with Resume, cover letter and short elevator pitch. That is really challenging job for me because this is the first time I personally go to someone office for dropping my resume and meeting with executive. So finally I mustered up my courage and went to the office where first guard stop me for identification so I submit my ID card and told him want to go to the AON office.

He permitted me for AON office. So I entered in the Hafeez complex in which a lot of multinational offices are located. With a lot of efforts finally found the office and entered in the office with the permission of Guard. Then met with the office receptionist and told her I wanted to meet with the kashif naeem who is the manager of the Risk Solution department she said that manager is not available you have to wait. So I waited for two hours that is very panic time for me. In the waiting room I practiced the elevator pitch for 10 to 20 times and improved it.

I felt stressful so did some exercises which includes long inhale, motivate myself and eat some fresh food there so that I look energetic while talking with the manager. Finally, after two hours manager came to the office then I call for the meeting. I personally went to the office and shake hand with the manager, introduce myself, show my passion for the firm etc. During the elevator pitch, I felt that he was looking uninterested then I explained the specific skills and related examples from the academic and personal life with accomplishments. Then he was looking interested and asked a lot of different questions related to my BBA(Hons) degree and my internship and said that submit your resume to me and I will consider your application for the coming jobs.

So I submitted my resume to the manager and asked the email address for the follow up email. Then wrote the email to the manager immediately after reaching my hostel. In which first I thanks the Mr. kashif and then show why I am the best candidate for the AON firm and show kindness in the last of the email. That is awesome experience for me.
