You always need to go an extra-mile to make you stand prominent among thousands. Without having some differential edge, no one will know or remember you. And if we relate this thing to the present employment status in our country. When we talk about jobs, things like unemployment or underemployment comes to our minds.

So, if you are passionate to get some job, you need to go some extra-mile. The question which arises here is that, how can someone go this extra-mile. So, answering this question, I will present my story of doing so, and going an extra-mile. It can be in many ways, but I decided to go, visit the HR department of the organization, for which I am passionate to join. And drop my Resume in person.

Amal Academy had announced vacant posts of ‘Program Associates’. So, I prepared my introduction, which I will be presenting while handing over the Resume. We call it as the ‘Elevator Pitch’. It is actually a complete package, in which you prepare your present status, future goals, academic achievements or other targets.

So, following the rule of putting some extra efforts in achieving something. I went there. Somehow I managed to meet the HR Manager there. He was busy at that time, so he asked me to stay and wait for him. I did the same. After about half an hour, he met me, and I presented me Resume & Cover letter to him. He asked me a few questions, which I answered efficiently, as I was well prepared for this kind of talk.

Now, coming towards the outcomes. It was my first experience, but proved to be a great one indeed. I faced challenges like, reaching to the HR official, beginning the conversation with him. But overall, as I had prepared my Elevator pitch, so the encounter didn't prove that much difficult or challenging.

What I learned from this experience, is that for next time, I should be more prepared for the discussion or questioning during the in person drop and having prepared my answers more efficiently.

And a tip for readers, is to just start working on their Resumes, cover letters, and specially consider this in person drop while applying for some position. As, you need to look prominent and more passionate about getting the job than others. And it is only possible through such practices.
