Böitaari Marks Her Official Return with the Launch of Bilëbbó Fusión and a Captivating Visual EP
“STAARI TIME: Echoes of a Ruptura” ushers in a new era of bold storytelling and genre-bending creativity.
Böitaari is back with STAARI TIME: Echoes of a Ruptura, a project that signals not only her re-entry into the music scene but also the launch of her independent label, Bilëbbó Fusión. This groundbreaking visual EP blends genres such as bossa nova, kompa, flamenco reggae with Arabic influences, and avant-garde jazz, creating a vivid narrative of love, loss, and transformation through an arthouse style.
“This project is deeply personal. It’s the culmination of everything I’ve experienced and felt over the past few years,” Böitaari reflects. “I wanted to create something that feels raw and unfiltered, but still leaves room for interpretation.”
The EP is structured to mirror the complexity of emotions experienced during a breakup, from the early stages of turmoil and confusion to the eventual acceptance or lingering pain. Songs like pt.1 - OBSÉDÉE capture the obsession and yearning of unresolved feelings, while pt.2 - PLANETA explores the catharsis of letting go. The dual endings of pt.3 (orig.) - VELAR POR MIM and pt.3 (alt.) - DON’T TELL ME offer two distinct paths—one that embraces closure, and another that leaves a sense of unresolved tension.
“Creating this EP under my own label allowed me to explore themes and sounds without limitations,” Böitaari says. “I felt empowered to take risks and to express myself in a way that felt true to my journey.”
As an alumna of Oxford Brookes University, Böitaari appreciates the support from Oxford Brookes Enterprise Support, sponsored by Santander Universities, which has been instrumental in bringing this music project to life. She envisions Bilëbbó Fusión as a platform where cultural diversity and artistic experimentation can thrive, with complete creative control over her work as its sole artist.
“Bilëbbó Fusión is more than just a label—it’s a space for my artistic vision to flourish independently,” she notes. “It’s about celebrating music that might not fit into a single category but resonates on a deeper level.”
