Jules, there is nothing silly about this piece! It’s fascinating and inspiring. I’ve long been obsessed by synesthesia — going on 40+ years since my first research into it in college (even reading 200-year-old German texts on it!). I‘m also a synesthete, with chromesthesia, auditory-tactile, mirror-touch and misophonia experience. I’ve never viewed these as problems or gone through any sort of therapy for any of them because, to me, they are benefits, not afflictions — that have made my writing, my art, my music, my life much richer. Kandinsky, Scriabin, Nabakov, David Hockney … Itzhak Perelman, Pharell Williams — they all know what we’re talking about. 😉
