Only then will you know why they think and do certain things.
People will grant your requests
when those requests appeal to their self-interest,
you can have practically anything you go after.
It’s through cooperation, not conflict,
that you’ll achieve your greatest success.
If you really want someone to help you get what you want, help them get what they want first!

ACTION PLAN: Think through a certain situation when someone stalled or made excuses for something that you asked them to do. How can you have rephrased or repositioned that request to get them thinking about what doing that task would mean to them?
