God teaches you to trust YOUR voice.

How do you know that you are saying YES to God, and not some other concern/voice/agenda/option?
You know you are saying yes to God by being familiar with His heart as revealed in the Scriptures.
That’s the answer. And that’s how you get to the answer you are seeking, whatever the question might be.
I know that you want to hear God speaking to you in an audible Morgan Freeman voice.
Me too.
But it doesn’t work that way.
Here’s how it does work.
God reveals His heart for us and to us through the Scriptures. Most clearly through the accounts of the life of Jesus.
We read these Scriptures, we hear these Scriptures, preached and taught, we even sing these Scriptures.
These Scriptures shape our thinking and ultimately our faith.
Romans 10:17
Everything that I have learned from Henri Nouwen and Brennan Manning and Robert Capon and Dallas Willard has come from their speaking of and pointing to and writing about God’s grace revealed in the Scriptures.
Those scriptures shape your thoughts, and ultimately shape your internal monologue.
The voice you hear as you pray? That voice is your voice, shaped by God through the Scriptures.
The Bible calls that process wisdom.
You were created for this.
