Clickbait. MoviePass isn’t dead. The “movie a day” plan is dead. Its current plan — three movies a month, from movies and showtimes pre-selected — isn’t nearly as good but it does have the virtue of being within the realm of the possible. $300 worth of movies for $10 is not viable. But $30 worth of movies for $10 is.
My wife canceled MoviePass, whose parent company — HMNY- is trading at 2 cents a share. But the service is still paying for movies. $30 worth of movies for $10. How is that a ripoff?
