I always worked no more than 8 hours, then read sci-fi or new programming books that interested me in the evenings. Overtime was rare and on an emergency basis only.

I didn’t have 10,000 hours available to get to the expert level.

I never had a software project, out of more than 100, fail in 45 years using more than a dozen computer languages.
