I was interested in this article because it mentioned healthcare reform in the title. The first thing to know is
Good programs work, Bad ones don’t
Nothing proposed by any Republican or any Democrat will work.
I have seen one that might work. In Peru, those with money buy into something like a Medicare Advantage plan. Those who can’t go to public clinics where lines are long, but care is available. Fees are based on income with a maximum. Doctors are required to work a certain amount of time per month in the clinic at a standard salary.
My county in the U.S. had a similar plan when I was growing up. It disappeared.
Care will not be equal for everybody, but it will be available.
