This is mostly true, but leaves out many considerations that don’t support this side of the argument. This partisanship problem, of stating pros without cons, is why political views lack credibility to most of us. In her negative ratings, Clinton has been smeared by Republican opponents. Bernie has not, nearly as effectively — there is the anti-Semitism smear to come, alongside Bernie’s anti-Zionism, of importance in NY and California especially. Why is it surprising that the Democratic party apparatus would support a Democrat over an independent now running on a Democratic line? You would do it in their position. Sanders is not unique — Eugene Macarthy ran a similar campaign and was passed over, McGovern ran in the general election and was trounced. Poll numbers now will not predict to the general election any more than season records predict to playoffs. That is a different ballgame. Research it.
