Lessons From Yulin:
Jason Barnaby

US Americans spend more money on pets than they do on education. Many pet foods are made of animal protein from other animals — some, such as cattle — require the same food as humans (soy beans, corn, grass) and growing these animals contributes to global-warming methane gas. Some countries are passing legislation and education measures to reduce animal protein consumption for both humans and pets. These help save Earth’s human life sustainability. I think it is inhuman to put dogs and other pets’ needs before those of the world’s people who need sustenance yet are deprived by the wealthy who put pets’ needs over peoples’. Above all, the spiraling pet industry in Western countries, the USA leading, is putting the rest of the world’s children — our future — at risk.
