Bearing Witness: Inspiration from Chefs

This week’s Add Passion and Stir podcast episode is about bearing witness, something so important to our work at Share Our Strength. Three chefs sat down with me and Share Our Strength’s Associate Director of Field Management Jillien Meier after the tour they had with the No Kid Hungry Virginia campaign of schools and communities seeing the effects of hunger and poverty.

Chefs John Currence (Oxford, MS — City Grocery, Big Bad Breakfast), Sarah Grueneberg (Chicago, IL — Monteverde) and Matt McClure (Bentonville, AR — The Hive) explain why they feel a responsibility to use their platforms to help feed needy families in their communities, and their voices to demand better systems and policies for all families. Spending time with the No Kid Hungry Virginia campaign further inspired them to keep driving change in their communities and beyond. Learn how you too can bear witness and be a change maker.
