“An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.” — Robert A. Heinlein
Carrying a gun makes most of us very slow to anger and very cautious about offending. There are exceptions, but most of them will carry whether legal or not.
Of course, lots of good people carry a gun whether legal or not. It’s a balance between being judged by twelve or carried by six.
That there are any places, other than prisons, where it’s not legal to carry a gun, openly or concealed, without asking anyone’s permission, is an abomination.
