First, the idea behind the Robin Williams quote is a cop-out.

I agree that men should be better at controlling their sexuality. Most of us do pretty well. Some don’t. You can’t change anybody but yourself.

I also agree that credible threats are not protected speech, but I believe that free speech includes especially language that is provocative.

There is no such thing as language that causes emotional distress. There are people who experience emotional distress when they hear certain language, but their distress is entirely their responsibility. Though I recommend avoiding people who regularly use your predictable distressed response to their speech against you; I have been a much happier camper since leaving my wife.
