“The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.” — Jean Giraudoux

I actually agree with Caitlin Johnstone, that Bernie Sanders would have beat Donald Trump, had the Democrats selected him as their candidate instead of Hillary Clinton, that he would have been as powerless as Trump has been to change anything in DC, and that Democrats would have gone back to sleep, just as they did while Obama drone-murdered hundreds of women and children.
I’m happy to see the resurgence of the anti-war left, but this identitarian, you-disagree-with-me-so-you-must-be-a-nazi garbage is not only useless, it’s harmful.
The real problem is that there are two Americas, with incompatible philosophies. One America believes that what you earn is yours, that you alone are responsible for everything that happens to you, and that you are the only person who can fix your problems. The other believes in extortion, that the government should redistribute wealth from those who earned it to those who didn’t. Both Democrats and Republicans are in the second camp. The only difference between them is how they want to spend the plunder. The Republicans like to spew rhetoric claiming to believe in property, but reality tells another story.
Taxation is extortion, a heinous crime. End it.
