The Emotional Power of Music

Whether you’re feeling on top of the world, dancing, singing and jumping around — or feel total sorrow, even to the point of defeat, ready to give up hope…
There’s music to match your mood. Happy, sad, angry, enraged, ecstatic, enthralled, captivated, heartbroken, pâro, sonder, or midsummer; there is a piece of music out there to match.
It’s kind of incredible, if you really think about it. All music is, is normal spoken language said in a way that matches a tune.
We can hear someone say something without it really meaning anything. But if they put those words in to a song, suddenly we can feel the emotions they felt, on another level.
We almost feel like it’s our loved one that broke up with us.
Remember being a teenager in high school? When you’d listen to songs and feel like they portrayed your life? (Maybe that was just me…)
Wait, how about that moment when you realize a song is so true about the world, and it’s kind of awful?
But the best moments are those when you’re in your kitchen cooking, listening to some damn good music that just lifts you up and makes you want to dance.
And some musicians are just so damn talented…
I just love music! It’s truly amazing. Next time you hear a song, really stop and listen. Try to understand what the artist was feeling when they wrote it. I bet you’ll be able to feel it yourself, if they did a good job writing the song.
What are you favorite songs? I’m always looking to find new music!
