Thank you! I’m going to reference this article from now rather than attempt to explain myself. At a couple of former jobs, I became quite unpopular whenever I tried to make some of these points. It was either seen as nay-saying “the process” or not understanding it. Several times during my career I’ve seen “the process” become nothing more than a “white elephant”. My knee-jerk reaction is to cringe whenever it’s mentioned that we should “improve upon” or “refine” it, which implies it will consume even more time and resources and will probably require that one or several developers spend time toiling with it, and all while I’ve already witnessed it consume much more time and resources than it will ever give back.
