Why Poor People Remain Poor

For starters, being poor and living in poverty are conditions in which many people live, not descriptions of the people, or who they are. Just as describing yourself as a motivational leader or motivational speaker is not who you are but what you claim to do. The difference is that poor people generally aren’t lying about what they do.

Besides, even real motivational leaders are liars if they claim anyone can be successful. As an aside, I was prompted to write this story after reading numerous false claims about poverty by a so-called motivational leader who consistently misspells motivational.

Some of you will no doubt, highlight that last line.

People are poor because they spend their time complaining.

People are not poor because they criticize and complain about things. They criticize and complain because they are poor. Rich people criticize and complain about things too — often about poor people who refuse to be their slaves. People are not poor because they refuse to work, they are poor because they refuse to be slaves.
