I was born in a tiny town 50km from Sobral, Brazil. As a kid, I always heard that Einstein was there a long time ago to prove his theory, but I took that with a grain of salt and maybe as an urban legend. It is interesting to see this last image with the location of Sobral on the map and a drawing of the observation station as a proof that this actually happened. I wonder why Sobral was chosen, maybe because it is so tiny but offers some infrastructure to settle the station, and also the town in the 20's probably didn’t have any electrical energy or pollution at all so the night sky would be perfectly visible.
