Camp Nou
Why to renovate a new stadium?
By the end of the next summer, the chosen constructor will start the works on the renovation of central Barça stadium. The updated version will harvest light and water from the natural resources, will have capacity increased and roof added.
Espai Barça Project Director William T. says that their plans are to separate of the New Camp Nou and Nou Palau Blaugrana and lower three and half thousand parking lots underground. The main point of this is to have a place which would be dedicated to sports that everyone can access on everyday basis. By the end of September 2016, we hope to have our Les Corts campus pre-certified by DGNB
The Stadium was formerly built 61 years ago — in 1957. The subsequent ample reconstruction was initiated in 1980.
Plenty of fewer changes happened. Among them there is the extension for the museum of a Barcelona FC, which was built in 1988; rearranging standing places and adding seats to them — that happened in 1994. The current size of Camp Nou is 99,354 seats.
The competition and the winners: Nikken Sekkei и Pascual-Ausió Arquitectes. Who are they? What is their portfolio?
Nikken Sekkei and Pascual-Ausió Arquitectes have won the contest two years ago and soon will be working on design and BIM-models for the stadium. Nikken Sekkei is based in Tokyo, Japan, and incorporates 2900 employees — about 1000 architects and 1500 engineers. It was found in 1900. PascualAusió Arquitectes, on the other hand, is the local provider, based in Barcelona who has completed around 70 projects overall.
Nikken Sekkei originates as the fellowship which specifies in architecture design. It was founded 118 years ago being a part of Sumitomo aggregation in Japan. Nowadays, the business is private and somewhat controlled by its employees. The firm has fulfilled about 20 thousand designs in around 40 countries.
Amid striking projects, Nikken Sekkei is the initial design company in partnership with Tokyo Skytree, which is the highest tower implementing the self-support technology in the world, and second highest human-made construction of any sort. The fellowship is also subject to the rearrangement of Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe.
Pascual-Ausió Arquitectes is the architecture firm, the name of which is composed of the two creators: Joan Pascual Argenté and Ramon Ausió Mateu. Ramon majored in architecture in the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona 28 years ago. Joan graduated from the same university with excellency 45 years ago
Bureau has fulfilled a total of 26 public buildings and 13 commercial projects.
Why to use BIM?
The Espai Barça Project uses BIM Technology. It is said in the documents that BIM in this project will be 6D. Nevertheless, for the sake of clarity, it needs to be illustrated: “D” doesn’t exactly mean “Dimension” in this abbreviation. While the system utilizes usual three-dimensional coordinate, it also adds schedules, costs and facility management to it.
The collective of designers was forced to look only at 3D-camera photos of the construction at the start of the building process — that is because there were not any numeric data about The Stadium’s base.
BIM allows them to add such details for the architects and engineers to grasp the number of materials, safety details and a lot of other things which will assist them with the building rules.
