Hey guys, I’m back! and I’ve come to talk to you guys regarding a very interesting phenomenon that took place very recently. I am not planning to talk about it, but it’s more like showing you guys how we can use the same logic to make this world, a much better place for everyone to live in. Here we go…..

The notorious egg

Today, I’ve decided to write about the “World Record Egg” situation and I am planning to shine a light on that to show you guys as to what actually went on there. Last week, there was a post on Instagram( an egg ) which was posted with the motive of getting it to beat the previous most liked post which belonged to Kylie Jenner and by yesterday it had already gotten close to 40 million likes! To be honest with you guys, I am a very skeptical person and I really do not mix with these trends(basically trying to say that I didn’t click the heart button in the egg post). I really did not expect the egg to go that far but it did. So, I would like to make this an opportunity to explain my take on the “Egg” logic to you guys.

There’s a million posts out there with some meaning and still a post with no meaning comes out on top as the most liked post of all time. How? This is one such problem that we millennials are going through and will go through in the future. I am not saying that it is wrong to like such a post and to make an effort to share it and all, but what I’m saying is, what if you spent that time and effort to do something important for yourself? or for the world? What if the eagerness to make this post famous was similar to the effort you put in life to make things that were deemed to be impossible, possible? Just sit back and think about it.

Another thing is, we millennials are very well known to be sucked into a lot of meaningless trends. Just think about it. We know how powerful social media is, but we still use it to do meaningless things. Do you realize what this egg situation actually means? If we actually pull out our heads from our butts and think, we could reduce a lot of problems the world is facing at the moment using social media. Poverty, Hunger, Pollution, Global Conflicts and the list goes on and on and on. Take pollution for example. If we spread an actual challenge related to growing trees or something(instead of ice bucket challenges), think of the difference we could make. 40 million trees? Or assuming half of the people do not give a rat’s ass, 20 million trees? I think that is more than enough to reduce environmental pollution. If we could make a post saying, 1 like = 1 dollar and get the same treatment, we could make 20–40 million dollars and aid the people suffering all over the world from various problems.

Just be conscious about things like these, brothers and sisters. It is okay to do things of this sort once we have actually made a proper use of social media. Do we buy a vehicle and just use it to cool ourselves using the A/C? or do we use it for a much bigger purpose like travelling? Please brothers and sisters, let’s be the difference that the world needs and let’s take the first step to make this world a better place. Let’s make an everlasting impact on the face of the earth by slightly changing the way we see the world. Let’s make it a better place for the future generations by using things like social media to promote something valuable to all mankind.

Thank you!
