Darkness

She has been inured to the insecurities all her life
Her harsh journey from her mom’s girl to a dutiful wife
She is a delicate flower,
Who is losing her power
Her soul weeps
Her eyes turned to stone
She stands all alone
Facing the rain shower
Braving the storms
Faking the smile
All the while
In her life, everything always goes wrong.
Her never ending night is too long
In the dark, she hears the crickets haunting sound
While the owl hoots away its woes
And the chilly wind blows
She stares at the stars that shine bright
Hoping for the sun to show its light
So that she can see her way out of the dark
And be carefree and happy as a lark.
