“always better, never best” is a view I really like (can’t remember who exactly I heard it from), for me that means always looking for little ways to improve but never striving for perfection or to be better than others.
Why that works so well for me is that if I try to achieve something and fail then my mindset is that its ok and I can just try to do better next time and if I succeed in achieving what I set out to then I’ve grown a little as a person and I start looking for the next improvement.
