The Stellar Network and XLM

One of our goals as a next-generation holding company is to look for assets that have a thriving ecosystem building and growing around them. Stellar is one of those organizations.

In 2014, Jed McCaleb, Co-founder of Ripple, launched the network system Stellar with former lawyer Joyce Kim. Its an open-source protocol that connects banks, payments systems and people, enabling them to move money quickly, reliably, and at almost no cost. You can read here, why UhX chose Stellar over ETH and NEO to build it’s Universal Healthcoin.

Stellar is focused on Solving the Global Remittance Problem

Even in 2018, with all that’s been done to create a borderless society, cross-border transactions — simply sending money to friends or family overseas — remains an antiquated process.

Remittance fees and inconvenient requirements make it very difficult to send money overseas. But not for much longer. What Ripple did with banks and corporate accounts, Stellar is doing for the underbanked (and doing it better — that’s why IBM is a partner and uses Stellar globally).

Most recently, Lobstr and BlockEq announced they are the first to get Apple-approved Stellar applications on the Apple Store! Not only is that a great accomplishment for their respective teams, but it means the app store officially allows Stellar technology application in the store, which is a huge milestone for all of Stellar. This opens the door for more development opportunities for mobile Stellar applications.

Birddog.Ventures already owns XLM with plans to purchase more in the near future. We will also be monitoring Stellar based projects for opportunities.
