As we are already a few days into November I wanted to share a review of what we accomplished in October and also what we have planned for this month.

October was a busy month for our devs with plenty of updates and releases. We started the month with the ‘light theme’ launch for the web marketplace Alpha and also released the ‘live wallet’ feature for marketplace transactions. Our testers gave us some great feedback and we were able to fix a few small bugs with their help. Our dev team continues to make great progress, building the world’s first web-based marketplace with Double Deposit Escrow.

Dynamic Peg Development

The public testing phase for the Dynamic Peg has officially been completed and our team is very grateful for the help from some very dedicated (and patient!) community members. The next step for the Dynamic Peg is to integrate it into our a test exchange and as we’ve already announced, we will be using bayex.io for this testing. This exchange has been built by Anoxy, one of the contributing developers to the BitBay project.

The BitBay Qt wallet and marketplace clients were updated in October, adding some essential code behind the scenes for the upcoming Dynamic Peg. The Qt wallet also got a shiny new blockchain explorer enabling users to search and browse info on the BitBay blockchain and transactions.

BitBay Qt Wallet v2.1.0

David is currently hard at work writing the code for exchanges and when it is completed we will begin the exchange testing. Once this testing phase is completed our team will produce detailed reports that will be shared with our current exchange partners and the BitBay community to show the many benefits of the Dynamic Peg for traders, exchanges and investors.

Help shape the future of BitBay

This month also sees the launch of our new Community Projects Initiative. The community behind BitBay is what makes it so unique in the crypto-sphere and we want to enable everyone to have an input in shaping the future of BitBay as we head into 2019.

All our community members are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions to:

  • enhance the BitBay ecosystem
  • increase adoption of BAY as a stable currency
  • build real-world products and solutions
  • contribute to the BitBay source code

The community will be able to vote on every proposal that is submitted via the BitBay forum.

We are also excited to announce the Community Projects Initiative will have its own dedicated fund enabling the community to reward the projects with a total of 250,000 BAY available over a 12 month period, from January to December 2019.

Contributions that gain enough votes will be advanced to a second round where they are rated by the community and core team based on factors such as the concept, code quality, ease-of-use, adoption process etc. We’ll have more details about this rating process before we launch the dedicated ‘BitBay Community Website’ in December.

And much more to come…

November is another very busy month for our team with updates to the Web Marketplace Alpha (browse and search marketplace items), the launch of the new custom block explorer, and a partnership announcement with a P2P project for mobile devices.

Our development team will also start work on the integration of BitBay with the Ledger ‘Nano’ platform. Our developers have previous experience with Ledger integration and we are confident that Ledger will see the benefits of adding BitBay to their platform.

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back next week with an update on progress and more details about our Community Projects Initiative and other roadmap items.

A very big thank you to our growing community for your support as always.

Project Manager @ BitBay
