Let’s not pretend black femmes don’t make some of the biggest impacts on culture, and that definitely includes social media. Black femmes have produced some of the most iconic memes with expressions and quotes we have come to know, love, and use over and over.

This post is celebrating black femmes that have inspired iconic memes and gifs. The gifs and memes I’ve posted are my personal favorites, but I’m sure you’ve seen at least a few of them too.

Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr, you’ve seen these people’s emotive faces on your feed:

Tiffany Pollard AKA New York. Her pathway to stardom and iconic memes started in 2006 when she was casted as a contestant on the VH1 show, Flavor of Love.

Quinta Brunson. This woman’s youtube videos created catchphrases and memes back in 2014 with her video called “The Girl Whose Never Been on a Nice Date”. She’s effortlessly hilarious and completely adorable. So happy to see her thriving and doing what she loves. She’s got her own series on Youtube Red right now called “Broke”.

Viola Davis is such a powerful actress whether she’s giving advice to a lost lil’ white girl or telling a colleague GIRL, BYE with one swift look, she captivates the screen and dominates memes.

THE DOLL. Need I say more? MC Debra never comes to play with the girls. And with every single one of the memes that we’ve been blessed with from ballrooms to sidewalks, I live for every one.

That concludes my post of appreciation for the black femmes that have provided us with memes for years, and many years to come. Hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to comment below with your personal favorites.
