BitMari to Launch Smart Farm Contracts to Aid in Agricultural Funding in Africa
Bitcoin Company Onboarding Blockchain Experts for Final Phase
BitMari is developing an application that allows buyers to purchase farming contracts for agricultural projects in Zimbabwe. BitMari will leverage two existing Blockchain platforms; bitcoin for the remittance of cash from the buyer in the diaspora to BitMari and NEO Blockchain for managing the contractual obligations between the buyers and the contract farmers.
In the architecture design the buyer funds the farmer who spends the funds on purchasing farming inputs from the Suppliers using BitMari Digital Coupons.
The BitMari platform architecture is divided into 3 layers which are:
- Layer 2: BitMari User Interface which addresses both the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) aspects of the platform for easier adoption.
- Layer 1: BitMari Smart Farm Contract Platform which addresses the scalability of the platform.
- Layer 0: NEO Blockchain which addresses the accountability and immutability aspects of the contracts through the use of the NEO distributed network.
The image below shows the architecture of how the system will be built.
BitMari is now looking for Blockchain developer expertise at the Decentralization Layer (0) which is critical for ensuring all the participants can trust the use of the BitMari platform at higher layers of abstraction.

BitMari was founded by Sinclair Skinner and Christopher Mapondera. It serves as a Pan-African remittance service that leverages on bitcoin technology to tap into new markets of the diaspora remittance. The goal is to help countries ease the pain of financial dependence and economic uncertainty, by offering more monetary control to the people through remittances. BitMari is the only bitcoin based company in the world to receive a money transfer license from the central bank of Zimbabwe and have a strategic partnership with Agribank to perform remittances for their customers using bitcoin.
