How to Promote an ICO/ Initial Coin Offering?

Nowadays, we see many firms are emerging with the concept of Initial Coin Offering or ICOs to fund their business via cryptocurrency. In fact, the year 2017 was just a boom of crypto in the financial market. At the same time, we see various fake ICOs that was just playing with investor’s money. However, not all ICOs were a scam, few were authentic that has turned out to be productive.
Listed below are few of the ways ICOs can have better opportunity to promote their presence.
Note — The article is not meant as investment advice. And the tips below are based on my own experience on genuine ICOs.
Here I go!!! — -
1) Have Whitepaper with crystal clear purpose.
ICO fundraising is quite easy when you have a whitepaper with a clear understanding of the token’s purpose. Often, Investors, Experts, and crypto enthusiast analyze product/token based on the language accuracy you used. It must be written with grammar free language and a proof-read system. I have seen people commenting on social media and Forums like Bitcointalk that the whitepaper which doesn’t convey the purpose of ICO/token in the proper way, they seem like scam ICOs.
Your ICO whitepaper should better present the token in details, its present and future plan with particulars of team members and advisors.
2) List Your ICO/token details in ICO calendars
You can find a number of ICO calendar that provide free as well as paid listing service. Icocalendars like ICO bench, icobazar, tokenmez, token market offers ico listing service of all categories. These sites are high authoritative listing sites and getting listed under these sites will increase the authority of your new project. Meantime, it is an opportunity for individual bloggers/influencer who keeps on searching for new ICO projects to discuss.
3) PR listing
Press listing on reputed cryptocurrency blogs/news portals like Coindesk, ccn, cointelegraph, coinpedia helps you call prospective investors. Yes, these are the platforms where people often subscribed and are following via social to get quick updates on crypto news & market situations. Consequently, if your business information/Press information is published here, it can be easily reachable to visitors of these sites via newsletter and social media.
4) Announcement threads
As soon as your fundraising appraisal is ready, it is advisable to create an announcement thread on “Bitcointalk forum”. Since Bitcointalk is specifically for discussions related to cryptocurrency and ICO, it is more likely that your project information can be easily accessible to people under this platform.
Note — every new project must be listed under the announcement thread only not as a general category.
5) Have strong and engaging social media presence
People visiting your website are finding ways to review the project before investing. Social media is the open platform where they find the credibility of the project; how often the firm posts on social media, the volume of people engaging across social networks, how many followers/likes the project is getting, how frequently and promptly its team respond to users query and so on.
Following social media will get a good amount of traffic to crypto projects
• Twitter

• Reddit — join various subreddits and communicate
• Steemit
• Slack discussions — discussions group for bloggers and crypto-enthusiast
• Linkedin — Join crypto related groups and discuss your projects

6) Influencer marketing
Connect the number of bloggers, writers, YouTubers, vloggers, social media specialists who can discuss your project. The more the person shares or discusses information about you, the more investors trust your business. Find the right crypto influencers and grow your audience.

- Check technicalities and website bandwidth before ICO widow opens. I have seen ICOs posting “website facing huge traffic issues” on the first day of ICO. This makes user insure during their discussion on contributing to ICO.
- Explain the project future and development phase in a perfect roadmap. It gives the user a sense of confidence to invest in ICO.
