I understand the necessity to summarise here, but this is oversimplification, not just summarising. It leads to misunderstanding/mischaracterising these wars as predominantly driven by religious difference and as a battle for doctrinal supremacy. There were many wars, each with different drivers. Also, it ignores the political and economic drivers, though these were often framed in religious terms.
