If your partner can’t articulate what they value about you, you might want to rethink your marriage plans.

As a Humanist wedding officiant, I interview a lot of couples who want to tie the knot. Whether they’re young or old, first marriage or second, or if they’ve known each other 6 months or ten years, I’ve gotten pretty good at getting couples to spill their relationship stories. After helping so many couples prepare for marriage, I think I’ve become a reliable expert on which couples are ready for the alter and which ones should put their wedding plans on hold (or even cancel together).
