My learning hacks with physiotherapist Mia Fernando
I contacted Mia and her husband last year when one of our subscribers asked me to do so. She read their blog about physiotherapy for pregnant women and people who had just become parents. Check it out here. I just needed a few seconds on the blog to know that these two would create an awesome course.
And they did (so far only in Swedish)!
Today Mia shares some of the tools she uses to stay up-to-date, what we call learning hacks.
Do you use any specific strategies, tools or “hacks” when it comes to learning?
I’m a member of several Facebook groups that cover my area of expertise. Some are more general while others are for professionals. Whenever I encounter a discussion about a topic that I don’t fully grasp, I see it as a reminder that I should try to learn something new instantly.
How can the people read this use the same method?
Refuse to be part of the whole “comment speculation movement”. Instead, create a habit of moving away from the comment field and to your own fact check. And try to stay away from going straight to the commenting section with your new found knowledge. Why not start a blog instead?
Just like Niklas, I also listen to a lot of podcasts. Here are a few that cover science and women’s health.
Feminist current — Canadian podcast about feminism
Stuff mom never told you — American podcast about science and social studies
Physioedge — a podcast about physiotherapy
The pelvic health podcast — a super niche podcast for use physiotherapists
