What is Sleijster4Children?

Sleijster4Children is a non-profit organisation, set up by Bernardus J. Sleijster, that aims to help children in need, regardless of their age, gender, race, disability or behaviour. Bernardus believes that one small act of kindness could change the life course of an innocent and impressionable child and he set up this foundation because he believes that every person deserves a great start to life.
What are Sleijster4Children’s goals?

Growing up with a keen interest in boxing, Bernardus has a strong belief that children who play sports are less likely to get into trouble, are physically healthier and have a more positive “can-do” mental attitude.
This is why Sleijster4Children has a focus on education and sports. With the aim to get more children outdoors playing football instead of playing on their phones, Bernardus is passionate about bringing sports to less fortunate kids, to help improve as many lives as possible.
Why focus on children?

How we begin our journey in this life will greatly determine the quality of living in our adult years, and Bernardus J. Sleijster believes that every kid deserves a chance to a healthy, happy and vibrant childhood.
As we are most vulnerable at a young age, it is vital that we give children the best education and encourage healthy habits early on, giving them a chance to become more confident and more likely to succeed later on in life.
How does Sleijster4Children help those in need?

Sleijster4Children works with local charity organisations and provides regular financial help. Donations in form of food, toys and clothes are also given on a monthly basis, collected from the charity’s supporters.
This year, the charity plans to expand and sponsor local sporting events, in hopes to inspire as many children as possible to play sports, stay active and keep healthy.
Which areas of the world for Sleijster4Children focus on?

For the time being, the charity is focusing on children in central and South America. However, Bernardus has big dreams for this project and once solid and trustworthy partnerships are built with organisations worldwide, he hopes to take this charity to a global level.

Who is behind Sleijster4Children?

Sleijster4Children was created by Bernardus Johannes Sleijster (also known as Bernard or Berrel) a dynamic entrepreneur and consultant with a passion for sustainability and child wellbeing.

Why is it called Sleijster4Children?

The name has 2 meanings — the first one is obvious, it is Bernardus Sleijster’s charity FOR kids, but adding a personal twist to it, Bernardus actually has FOUR kids of his own.
