I’d add that the kind of participation most Portlanders would like to see from those who work in tech is the kind of participation that is least gentrifying and displacing.

Please stop buying up our craftsman homes or renting older properties. You have the money to rent anything you want and there is plenty of high end apartments that are half filled that really should be the go to spot for tech bros and gals. Every time a tech person moves into a hood with a $100k salary and swoops up a unit priced for the middle class it signals to landlords they can raise rents higher.

Me part of the solution to preventing further gentrification and displacement. Participate by not killing what remains of the city we love.
