Fashion and wearable technology. It is a trend that I am seeing more and more of, and while it is not yet mainstream, it could have the potential to be. In the example shown above, a spider dress was designed to push back those invading the personal space of the wearer, as well as to be highly stylish.

A future of wearable technology being common is fascinating; imagine if most of our clothes had some built-in function besides covering up our skin or looking fashionable. I don’t mean just accessories like the iWatch or wireless earbuds, but larger and more apparent uses in coats, shirts, armor, etc.

Also interesting: Clothing that uses technology to communicate. In the example above, the clothing lights up when the user is interested in something, showcasing the user’s thoughts to people around them. What if more clothing did similar things through technology?
