How To Reset

--

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

Happy New Year! It’s 2021! It’s a brand new year and 2020 is behind us. It’s time for us to RESET! If you don’t reset, it can be a new year but nothing will change for you. What does it mean to reset? To reset is to set again or differently. We’ve heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. If you want things to change you have to do somethings differently. We have a new year and a new slate to start over. Let’s learn how to reset.

How To Reset...
1. Let go of the unnecessary
What are you holding onto? Some baggage? Grudges? Negativity? Regret? Toxic Relationships? Bad Habits? Hurtful Memories? Let it go! Philippians 3:13 tells us to forget those things which are behind us and reach forth unto those things which are before us. Leave what’s behind and reach towards what’s before you! Revelation 21:5 tells us that God makes all things new! If we’re going to have a great NEW year, we have to let go of the OLD. Out with the old, in with the new!
2. Work towards the future
This is a great time to set some goals for yourself. Set some short term and long term goals. Ask God to give you a vision for this year to pursue. Write that goal down, put a date on it and start taking action towards it. Proverbs 29:18 tells us the people perish without a vision. What is one thing you want to accomplish this year? Think about that.
3. Focus on the most important thing
We need to make our relationship with God a priority. Let’s not get so sidetracked this year that our relationship with God gets neglected. Like Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, we too must choose the good part and do the necessary thing (Luke 10:42). This is going to require discipline. Let prayer be our first conversation of the day. Start a bible reading plan or a daily devotional. Make an effort to grow closer to God.

If we want to be leaders that are spiritually and emotionally healthy we must take time to reset. Letting go of the unnecessary, working towards the future and focusing on the most important thing is what we need to do. Now you know How To Reset.
