For too long most of us hold on to things by the fingernails. Gripping with a death hold to things that are not very important in the scheme of things.. In other words; we survive but we aren’t happy. We aren’t thriving! Why did I start this blog? To THRIVE! I don’t know about you but my fingernails, quite frankly, are disgusting from surviving and living dreams that are sandcastles made out of clouds.

So what does thriving mean? According to my good friend Webster it means “To increase in bulk or stature; to grow vigorously or luxuriantly, as a plant; to flourish; as, young cattle thrive in rich pastures; trees thrive in a good soil.” We are meant to thrive, we are meant to flourish. God did not make me and place me here to be mediocre or to just survive until I perish. Quite honestly, it was quite the opposite. He doesn’t want any of us to be mediocre. The Bible says says, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Does that mean that life will be grand all the time? No, does it mean that all our material wants will be granted? No. No, it doesn’t. But, we should chase after the things of our hearts and souls that God has granted us talents in. If we do this, then our hearts and souls will thrive. Which is a much better gain than anything materially. It’s a hard pill to stomach because often times we must let go of our fear in order to do so. From my first post, it takes courage to create. It takes courage to thrive. We are not meant to survive. So take up your talent and multiply it, stop being afraid and start thriving!
