Global startup communities send their best to Silicon Valley
Meet the participants of the second Blackbox Female Founders Edition
The 9th of May marks the beginning of our 15th Blackbox Connect, our second Female Founders Program, organized in collaboration with Google for Entrepreneurs. For our 15th edition, we’ve accepted 18 talented women entrepreneurs, founders of 16 startups coming from across 14 countries, spanning from China to Mexico. Operating in a variety of verticals including health, financial and agriculture, Internet of Things and pharma-tech industries, the founders will learn from top entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers in Silicon Valley and connect with our extensive local network.
Additional information on each startup is available here.
Powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, the intensive two-week curriculum is packed with talks and insights shared by iconic investors, founders, and corporate executives such as:
- Gretchen Howard, Partner at Google Capital
- Ann Winblad, Founder of HWVP
- Jenny Lefcourt, Partner at Freestyle Capital
- David Hornik, General Partner at August Capital
- Julia Hartz, Founder of Eventbrite
- Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, Founder of Joyus
The key purpose of their journey will be to learn the best practices of Silicon Valley on what it takes to build great companies, as well as establish key connections with advisors and investors as they grow and scale globally. Google for Entrepreneurs is eager to welcome this group of female founders to Silicon Valley.
“We are amazed by the tangible impact the Blackbox Connect program has on entrepreneurs around the world, and thrilled to support their 15th cohort focused on supporting women-led companies from startup ecosystems outside of Silicon Valley”, says Mary Grove, director of Google for Entrepreneurs.
The impact Blackbox Connect has on entrepreneurs is noticeable, says Fadi Bishara, Founder of Blackbox:
“We were thrilled by the drive and dedication of last year’s Female Founders Edition. We’re not at all surprised to see many of them make giant leaps forward raising multi million rounds, scaling up their teams, growing revenue and gaining local as well as international recognition.”
The whole program culminates in a Startup Showcase on the 20th of May when the founders present their startups in front of a select audience of hundreds investors, entrepreneurs and industry leading executives. Interested parties can sign up for the Blackbox Connect newsletter to receive more news about upcoming events.
