Asian storeowners and the killing of Black patrons

On May 28th,2023 in Columbia SC at approximately 8pm, Rick Chow shot and killed 14 year old Cyrus Carmack-Belton. Carmack’s execution worthy crime was apparently being suspected of taking a water bottle without paying for it.

On March 16,1991 in Los Angeles , 15 year old Latasha Harlins was shot and killed by Soon Ja Du over an apparent stolen orange juice. Du, would later be charged with involuntary manslaughter and received a light fine and five years probation.

We have a problem in this country and I hate to say it but it really and truly does feel like war against Black people. I guarantee if Cyrus or Latasha were white they would not have been killed by these Asian shop owners. In both cases, there has been unclear conclusions as to whether the accusations were even valid. And furthermore, even if they were, stealing is not an execution worthy crime in the United States. If that was the case then all of Wall Street should be stinking in Potters Field.

What is it with Asian attitudes as shop owners in Black communities that bring out this level of aggression towards us? There are cases,every few months or so, in various parts of the country at nail salons, restaurants, and beauty supply stores where Asian shop owners are acting in aggressive ways with Black patrons.
