Some Personal Thoughts I Had Going Live.

“The Truman Show”

Society Where Everybody Wants to be Truman. Or not?

It’s been a couple of weeks I’ve been preparing to become a live-streamer, and using this app called “Prism Live Studio” developed by Naver, which speaks for itself, by the way, of its great fame and credibility. Of course, just like I expected, it IS awesome.

And let me take a little break here, and lay out some personal thoughts I had while preparing all this live-streaming stuff. Just DO NOT SCOLL AWAY. Please take your time.

Of course, it brings up more than a few ethical issues because, in this particular case, Truman’s the unsuspecting star of the show, being fooled by everyone around him. Today, however, oddly enough, everybody wants to be him, a YouTube Star with an army of subscribers. And the number of Trumans is increasing every day.

There are some moments I, too, want to be one of those sensational Trumans of today, because if I were to be as handsome as this guy, “(No-jambot)”, one of the most popular YouTube streamers, people would just subscribe my channel without me doing or saying anything but just reading a book at a desk like he does in front of a camera.

YouTube Streamer — (No-jambot) a handsome guy.

So the number of subscribers has always been much of an issue here. Would it still be possible to attract enough people without me doing anything crazy or stupid? Every day is a battle in my head to come up with a fresh idea. Now it seems like a perfect moment to reply to the question no one seems to really care; “Then why do I use a platform nobody’s ever heard of?”

As a matter of fact, at first, I didn’t know PRISM’s a new platform in the market without many people using it yet. It’s just the multi-cast part what dragged me into it. “One viewer matters. But then, if I can simulcast to multiple platforms, wouldn’t I get popular faster than the average?” That was the whole idea behind.

Well of course there’s a good side of becoming a live-streamer than always trying to think of new ideas too. I got to learn the best angle to film my face to make me look (a little) better. And it also feels like I’m writing a diary, keeping my daily life on camera.

And I get to work more on my facial expressions because I don’t want to give out the wrong impression to others on live. Now, I practice my smile in the mirror, trying many different looks I can make as well. I guess I caught a new habit after all.

Let me just cut to the chase since I’m writing too long by now; so far so good. I have to worry about my own living anyway. So why not worrying about new ideas for the streaming? I mean, it’s even more productive!

I’m not sure how many of you would actually be considering going live, but if you are, I hope you give it a serious thought on how you would attract people to your channel. Because like I said earlier about a million times, what matters is your audience.

Ending with a picture of one of my favorite YouTube streamers, (Dragon Lake), who got me intellectually inspired. I’ll see you around in the next one!
