Why would you hire someone who doesn’t really care about your company enough to fix up a resume?

Do you have some data to support that correlation? If not you might want to question your assumptions about it. We tend to make a lot of assumptions about what is or is not important when assessing candidates and they are rarely based on anything other than our intuition and biases. I can’t tell if I’m going to want to work with someone based on their resume. The only purpose it serves it to weed out people who clearly don’t have the experience you need.
