Herbalife Family Foundation Celebrates February’s Annual Mark Hughes Day

American businessman, Mark Hughes (1956–2000) is honored and remembered for his incredible legacy of being Founder and First Member of Herbalife International Ltd.
Mark’s vision was to bring great nutrition to everyone in the world, and the need for people to have access to good nutrition products and better information on living a healthy active life has never been greater. He once said, “Introducing balanced nutrition to millions of people in the world is a dream come true for me.”
Since then, each year in February the Herbalife team celebrates Mark Hughes Day, an occasion that the company looks with pride on all that they have achieved in making Mark’s vision a reality. Herbalife’s current CEO, Michael O. Johnson says, “All that we are doing to create better products, to strengthen the Herbalife Nutrition brand and to enhance the financial opportunity we offer is part of our commitment to continue to build on Mark’s vision.”
The CEO adds, “This is also a time to honor Hughes’ commitment to making communities better places to live and work.” “Mark left behind two great legacies — founding Herbalife and establishing Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), says Robyn Browning, executive director of the nonprofit organization.
HFF is at the heart of Herbalife’s commitment to improving communities by bringing good nutrition to vulnerable children around the globe. Many dedicate their time and money throughout the year to support all the great work HFF does to make a difference in communities.” In 2005, HFF was proud to introduce the Casa Herbalife Program to help provide healthy and nutritious meals by partnering with existing charities serving children. Today, HFF supports over 100 Casa Herbalife programs in more than 50 countries and serves over 120,000 children daily. HFF is supported by Independent Herbalife Members, their friends and families and Herbalife employees.
Hughes often said; “I created the Herbalife Family Foundation in an effort to help disadvantaged children overcome all kinds of problems.” The Herbalife website says, Hughes believed that through HFF efforts, people would discover new worlds of opportunity and an eternal hope for the future.
He has inspired people from all walks of life through his faith in people’s ability to change lives, starting with their own. Hughes believed that one person could truly make a difference. Although he passed away in 2000, his vision for changing people’s lives — helping people manage their weight, find wellness and earn additional income — continues to thrive in all Herbalife family and friends.
