Continuing my fascination with blockchain, or digital ledger, or the future of the Internet (I still haven’t wrapped my mind around this….) Ethereum is beginning to be my favorite subject. Not because it is a cryptocurrency, that’s the Ether part, but because of it’s proclaimed openness distributed, trustless, computer system. It’s not based on current cloud systems like AWS with centralized system administrators, it’s actually based on user computers all over the world. That’s wild, and apparently very inefficient (i.e. slow).

DApp’s are drawing programmers attention, they are creating applications that run on Ethereum for any/all types of markets and processes. It’s not just about digital currency. These applications someday will run elections, or audit media. And because the blockchain will ultimately validate, we can trust the votes. Crazy.

Here’s another good read on Ethereum. Enjoy.
