I do agree that there is a potential for growth and creation of something good and unique. But you’ve seen only 1 side of the coin. I live in Kiev and have been related to IT industry for years. Though we have some good engineers and creative people who want to create some nice products there are a lot of frauds and other obsitcles. People tend to raise money for some useless shit like Petcube, or even worse Nimses which is basically a pyramid. And the education is getting worse, all those good engineers and other specialists studied at the remnants of the USSR educational system which provided great theoretical background. Right now lots of young people tend to rely more on self education and work experience. Those who have enough motivation may sucessed in this regard, but many others fail which results in the poor quality of human resources. Also it is impossible to build any kind of usefull startups with local mentality which urges to earn quickly without looking at a long term. The guys from Readdle are one of the few with proper vision and motivation to help create something good and usefull. The state has 2 many problems which must be fixed first in order to ensure proper support and growth in modern business fields.
