Yes, I was so excited and could not wait to upgrade my MacBook Pro (15-inch 2017) last night to the OS I was desperately waiting for since it got announced in the Apple Keynotes on the 4th of June 2018!

In case you haven’t seen the keynotes, here’s what Apple announced:

The upgrade took quite a while — I would say AGES :D — but I did not check how long it really took.

After the upgrade I tested several things and thought: WOW — so far all is working nice and smooth. Then I wanted to watch a Youtube tutorial and BAMM — no sound on my internal speakers!

So easiest test was: trying to connect to my bluetooth headphones. This did work so I assumed it must be some stupid software issue — and here we go!

If you are experiencing the same behaviour I have an easy fix for you!

Open your terminal (press CMD + Space to open spotlight search, and type terminal and hit return) and then copy & paste this command:

Hit return (or enter :D)

You will be asked to enter your password what is the same as your computer’s password.

Once this is done you can close the terminal again and start enjoying any type of audio playback again …
