Every Late Night Talk Show Is A Sleazy Plutocratic Rim Job
Caitlin Johnstone

  1. Since when are comedians supposed to be the ones holding our political leaders’ feet to the fire? You are mistaking comedy for journalism.
  2. You insult everyone who watches a late night show. I don’t know where you get this “holier than thou” attitude, but it is very unbecoming if you consider yourself a respected journalist.
  3. Of course Colbert’s comedy is different. It’s a different network and has different guidelines. With all due respect, he has pushed the envelope with CBS. And to whoever said that he was a Clinton shill: He gave Bernie Sanders more air time than any other person. You need to up your ginseng.
  4. People watch late night shows to relax, laugh and de-stress. I’m sorry if they do not cover the material you want and the way you want. They are not in it for pushing any agenda. Again, it is entertainment, not journalism.
  5. I was not thrilled with Trevor Noah’s statement either. Let’s face reality though. If the corruption of Wall Street and Clinton’s speeches had not been such a major part of the election, this would have been a non-factor.
  6. Last but not least, I have not seen a single comment that didn’t praise your writing, so I expect this will summarily be deleted. If not, then kudos to you for being able to accept constructive criticism.
