WHY EVERYONE DESERVES TO LIVE IN HUBRIS WORLD
If we are being honest, we all hide parts ourselves.
Parts we are not very proud off
Parts we may be proud of but not bold enough to show.
And most times, the parts of ourselves we end up showing to the world
Is only a shadow of what could have been.
Hubris is an avant garde unisex clothing line
That creates unique and unconventional garments and accessories.
Earlier this year
the brand released a follow up collection dubbed “ROADS Chapter 2”
In the collection notes, Charles Egbejule the creative director of the brand
Narrates his struggle with complete self acceptance
and it’s almost unreal how relatable it is.
He dedicated the collection to the parts of himself he struggles with.
Speaking on his various struggles…
He gets to a point where he says, and I quote
“The part of me that is innocent and sometimes considered naive; usually scared to say no and just wants to make everyone happy”
That hit like a slap in the face
Why do we do that?
Think it’s our responsibility to make people happy?
Hubris world offers a window into self acceptance
Is this possible you ask?
Yes, it very much is…but It’s a process
We cannot expect to accept everything about ourselves in one day.
But perhaps..a step in that direction
could just be putting on a pair of hubris Atman boots that might draw a bit of attention to you
But you don’t care
because you are stepping out of your comfort zone and wearing something you find interesting.
I believe self acceptance does not give license to our dark/mischievous side
But it’s only when we acknowledge the not-very-pretty parts of ourselves
That we can do anything about it.
Self Denial has never helped a soul so why do we still practice it?
